What is Syracuse University looking for?
-Preparation and purpose:
Your academic performance is a good factor of their decision especially senior year. The more AP and honor course you take, the better it looks for your chance in getting in to Syracuse.
-Educational background
Curriculum differs from countries, so they closely examine your school's profile to put your course selections and grades in proper context.-Standardized test performance
They look at the SAT or ACT test (which ever one is higher). If you take the ACT, the writing section is optional. However, if you take the SAT, they look at ALL the sections.-Personality
In your personal essay, they want to hear about your goals, interests, experiences, and values to allow them to understand better what kind of person you are. An interview is not mandatory but it's recommended.

They want to know that you are able to manage your time and interests. They will ask for any of your after-school activities, volunteer work, or employment to see that you are commitment to help others, you are organized and if you have leadership skills.-Special talent
